David Pope

David Pope grew up in Canberra and began drawing cartoons for the underground press in the 1980s. He became editorial cartoonist for the Sydney Sun-Herald, returning to Canberra as editorial cartoonist for The Canberra Times in 2008. Pope has received 15 Stanley Awards, including four Gold Stanleys for Cartoonist of the Year (2010, 2012, 2015 and 2022). He was MoAD’s Political Cartoonist of the Year in 2012 and 2022.

Works also displayed at Behind the Lines 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
