In February, there were cyber-attacks on the IT systems of Australian Parliament House and the networks of the Liberal, Labor and National parties. In a statement to parliament, without naming names, the Prime Minister said that experts believed attacks to have come from a ‘sophisticated state actor.’ Kudelka’s cartoon contrasts this information to the perception that people arriving by boat are a threat to national security.
