As the pandemic upended lives around the world, many creative people sought ways to offer hope and comfort. In late March, First Dog on the Moon announced: ‘We need a nice cartoon.’ He put a call out on Facebook, promising ‘viral pet fame’ for stories of how furry, scaled or feathered friends had helped their owners with self-isolation.
