Steady as She Goes

The fallout from the Liberal Party leadership challenge was felt for many months afterwards. It left Member of Parliament Julia Banks deeply disappointed in her colleagues. She resigned from the Liberal Party citing dissatisfaction that her colleagues placed personal gain over public interest. Moving to the cross bench, she noted that the treatment of women in parliament was ‘years behind’ the business world from which she had come.
