Last Act, First Act

On election day, the New South Wales Liberals sent a text message to voters in marginal areas of the state, and some Victorian seats, warning them that an ‘illegal boat’ had been intercepted trying to reach Australia. This was in breach of the Coalition government’s own rule against commenting on ‘on-water matters’. At a press conference, Scott Morrison was asked about the interception, and said, ‘I’ve been here to stop this boat’.
