Inspired by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s description of the invasion of Ukraine as a ‘special military operation’, Phil Somerville applies a Putin-style rebrand to the way some other tricky political and social issues might be described. The rebrand may make each of these issues sound more palatable, but it is unlikely to improve any of the situations.
