When former New South Wales Deputy Premier John Barilaro was appointed to the role of NSW’s trade commissioner to the Americas, questions were raised about the appropriateness of the appointment. A state parliamentary inquiry found the decision to hire Barilaro had not been conducted ‘at arm’s length’.
