A Triumph for Democracy

Triggered by an allegation of rape within Parliament House, more than 100,000 people across Australia protested for action on gender inequality and violence. Acknowledging the value of such protests, the Prime Minister nevertheless raised eyebrows with his comment, ‘Not far from here, such marches, even now, are being met with bullets — but not here in this country’.
