John 'Polly' Farmer

John Farmer was a political cartoonist for the Sunday Tasmanian and the Hobart Mercury, and at one time was the Mercury’s longest-serving cartoonist. He drew his first cartoon in 1985, and now ‘draws from home’. In 2023 he won cartoon of the year at the 32nd annual Rotary Cartoon Awards.

Works also displayed at Behind the Lines 2011, 2012 and 2013.
