In the Albanese government’s first major piece of climate legislation, parliament passed a bill to establish a target of reducing Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions by 43 per cent below 2005 levels by 2030. The Greens moved an amendment to increase the target to 75 per cent, but it was defeated. Fiona Katauskas suggests that the public is starting to cotton on to Captain Carbon Cuts’s alter ego.
