Uneasy listening

There were a few songs this year which continued to trouble the fans, making for some uneasy listening.

The flagging health of the economy caused concern, as did stagnant wage growth for those in employment and low levels of Newstart for those not.

The treatment of people seeking asylum made repeat appearances in the news. Falling interest rates, levels of infrastructure investment and the report of the Banking Royal Commission turned a few heads, while the Minister for Indigenous Australians Ken Wyatt increased the drum beat for Indigenous constitutional recognition.
