Opposition Matters
There were as many matters that set the Opposition apart from the Abbott government as there were policies that aligned them. Marriage equality, renewable energy and an emissions trading scheme were chief among the former, and national security, border protection, boat turn-backs and parliamentary entitlements were striking instances of the latter. Although the policy changes were not greeted with spontaneous praise or universal agreement, all Labor party factions were bound to support their leader.
