“The response to Gough Whitlam’s death was widespread and heartfelt. Tributes came from both sides of the house. Gough’s legacy is still with us today, although the irony is the Abbott Government is in the process of undoing much of what Gough achieved in his three years as prime minister. Tony Abbott is also working in a short time frame.”
