The Coalition plays a long game and rarely diverts from established policy. As long as the Gillard government faces internal division Opposition Leader Abbott’s chances of electoral success appear to increase. By May his banner is flying high and the period of voter doubt has seemingly been dispelled although, when prime ministerial change interrupts the predicted flow of events, he wisely starts to consider two options: one is winning the election and the other is losing.
