Women's Weakly
On 25 June 2013 Prime Minister Gillard appeared in The Australian Women’s Weekly. She was photographed knitting a toy kangaroo for the Duchess of Cambridge’s baby. “I knit for babies in part, because they are smaller projects, I’ve got not that much time in my life. You can get them done and there’s a sense of satisfaction in having completed it. I just thought it would be a cute project to work on.”
Reading between the lines
Michael Leunig says the first cartoon he drew “wasn’t very good and it wasn’t very funny; it was a bit naughty”.
