In June 2012 the Thames Pageant was the focal point of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Spectators watched one of the largest flotillas ever assembled on the River Thames. Unlike the figure in Mark Knight’s cartoon, the Prime Minister lit a beacon in Canberra.
